Dealing with diversions

Ideally, you want to get to your destination as quickly as possible so you can successfully realise your vision, and that’s why passion, purpose and focus are so important. However, you also need to acknowledge that the route to realising your vision is unlikely to be particularly straightforward.

You may come across barriers that you simply can’t negotiate, or you may find that you get blown of course by certain circumstances. These could either be down to your own personal error or events beyond your control. If you accept that such a situation can arise, and prepare your mind for the possibility, then you’ll be more likely to be able to navigate your way around the problem more quickly, deal with it and get back on track, delaying your mission for as little time as possible.

Although finding that you’ve been diverted away fro your vision can be distressing, its important to handle any diversions from your goal in a proactive and rational way. You should avoid getting too emotional or upset about the setback and try to keep your stress levels to a minimum, so you don’t add to the challenges that already exist. What’s more, excess anxiety will cloud your mind and make it more difficult think straight and plan your way out of the problem.

Realise that this is only a minor setback and keep a cool head so that you can start re-planning your route sooner rather than later.

It is better to LIGHT one candle than to curse the darkness.
